So last nite I was making my grandmas strudel recipe. and my mother calls and says that there is a forest fire 2 miles from our house. needless to say I left dinner on the stove and started getting things together in case we are evacuated, and about 3 hours of watching air tankers, helicopters and fire trucks go up the hill we get the all clear. thank god we escaped the fire again ( 5 years ago it almost took out our house, stopped 90 yards) but man dinner was ruined at it was too late to start a new batch.....but at least i still have a kitchen to cook in.
