1 tsp. vegetable oil 2 onions, chopped 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 (4-oz.) can diced green chilies 2 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. dried oregano, crushed 1 (14-oz.) can chopped tomatoes 2 (15-oz.) cans black beans, drained
Heat oil in a skillet, add onions and garlic. Sauté until soft, add remaining ingredients except for black beans.
Mix well, bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in beans and heat through.
Makes 4 servings.

My Comments:
I served this over brown rice along with a green salad. It was a big hit. I had this for a tailgate party one time and had to make a big pot of it and it was gone in a matter of an hour as it was really very cold that night about 19* in Auburn, AL in 1964. I also had corn ground chips with this to.
