Brownie Pie
Ingredients
3 egg whites
dash salt
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup oreo crumbs (remove filling before crushing)
½ cup chopped walnuts
½ tsp vanilla
Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees.
Beat egg whites, salt and sugar until mixture forms soft peaks.
Fold in crumbs, nuts and vanilla.
Spread evenly in a lightly buttered 8 inch pie plate. (If using a 9 inch pan make one and a half recipes; if a 10 inch (our favorite size for this) double the recipe.)
Bake at 325 degrees for about 35 minutes.
Cool thoroughly. Top with sweetened whipped cream (few drops of vanilla, powdered sugar added to heavy cream and whipped or Cool Whip). Chill well.
Optional: Trim with curls of shaved unsweetened chocolate.
