CROCKPOT CHILI CON CARNE
3 tablespoons shortening 4 pounds lean ground beef 2 cup chopped onion 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/4 cup chili powder 3 beef bouillon cubes, crushed 1-1/2 teaspoons paprika 1 teaspoon oregano 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/2 cup beef stock 1 28-ounce can diced tomatoes 1 8-ounce can tomato paste 4 15-ounce cans red kidney beans In a large skillet, melt shortening; add beef. Cook, stirring often, until beef is no longer pink. Drain off fat. In a crockpot, combine beef, onion, garlic, chili powder, bouillon cubes, paprika, oregano, cumin, cayenne, beef stock, tomatoes, tomato paste, and kidney beans. Cover and cook on LOW for 8 hours.
