1 cup milk, scalded ½ cup sugar 3 pkgs. yeast 5 cups sifted flour 1/3 cup margarine or butter 1½ teaspoons salt ¼ cup lukewarm water 2 eggs, beaten a combination of cinnamon and sugar
Combine scalded milk, butter, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Soften yeast in lukewarm water & combine with milk mixture. Add about half of the flour, then add the beaten eggs. Beat well. Add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough.
Knead until smooth and satiny--about 10 minutes. Place dough in a warm greased bowl, brush top with melted butter. Cover and let rise in a warm place until double in bulk.
Turn out and punch down. Shape into a rectangle, spread cinnamon and sugar on dough. Roll tightly, then slice. Place in a greased pan. Let rise about ½-¾ of an hour. Brush with an egg wash. Bake 15-20 minutes at 375°
