Crab Appetizer

  • 1 package 8 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 1 can (6 ounces) crabmeat, or about 1 cup

  • 2 tablespoons minced onion

  •  1 tablespoon half and half

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground salt (to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon sliced scallions or chives, for garnish

  1. Combine cream cheese, crabmeat, onion, half and half, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.

  2. Place mixture in an ovenproof serving dish.

  3. Bake at 375° for about 15 minutes, or until thoroughly heated.

  4. Sprinkle with chopped scallions and serve with crackers or pita chips.

My Comments:
You can use an 8 oz. container of whipped cream cheese for faster preparation. You won't have to wait for it to soften. Also: You can substitute milk for half and half if you don't want to buy a whole container for just a few tablespoons.
