Ingredients
1 lb fresh Pole Beans
1/2 tsp crumbled Basil Leaves
3 strips Bacon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup finely chopped
Onion dash of Red Pepper
1 Chicken Bouillon cube
1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
Trim ends from beans and cut into 2-inch pieces. Saute the bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Remove bacon and crumble. Add the onion to bacon fat and saute for 2 minutes. Add the beans, 3/4 cup of water, bouillon cube, basil, salt and red pepper and cover the skillet. Simmer for 15 minutes. Mix the cornstarch with a 1/4 cup water and stir into the beans mixture. Cook until thickened and clear. Sprinkle bacon over beans. Makes 6 servings
