Title: Grandmas Hardy Chili with Beans
Date: 11/22/2008 18:16:23
Posted by: Tyeewindsong

3 Lbs. Hamburger (15% fat)
1 Large Yellow onion (diced)
1 15oz Can Diced tomatoes
3 Jalapenos (minced, leave in the seeds if you like it hot, I take them out)
3 Envelopes Chili Seasoning
1 Envelope Taco Seasoning
2 Large Cans Beef Broth
1 #10 Can of Kidney Beans, drained and well rinsed (or about 10 15oz cans)
Instructions:
In a big soup pot, brown the hamburger and the onions.
Add peppers, canned tomatoes, the contents of the chili and taco seasoning envelopes, and the kidney beans.
Add the beef broth and simmer for 3 to 5 hrs.
That\'s it, just serve it with sweet cornbread and enjoy

My Comments:
This is a thick soup, sort of. It is not as thick as most Chilis but it is very good. Just the thing we want in the winter time in the Northwest. It has evolved over time, everyone always asks me to make it for parties, campouts, and it is one of two dishes most requested from my grandchildren and their friends. And it is sooo...easy to make!
