Hamburgers Burgundy

1-1/2 lbs ground chuck or sirloin
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground pepper
1/4 tsp. sugar
1/4 C fresh chopped parsley
1/4 C minced green onions
2 oz. blue cheese cut into 4 thin slices
2/3 C dry white wine
4 slices bacon

In large bowl, mix ground beef, salt, pepper, parsley, and onion. Shape into 8 1/2-inch patties.

To make each serving, place 2 patties together, enclosing between them a thin slice oc cheese. Pinch edges to seal cheese in well.

Place hamburgers in a shallow pan and pour wine over. Chill for two hours. Encircle each hamburger with a bacon slice and secure with a toothpick. Remove from wine and broil over hot coals to doneness you wish.
