Refrigerator Bread & Butter Pickles
Ingredients:
- 9 cucumbers (6 to 8 inches long), peeled and sliced CUKES
- 1 to 2 medium onions, peeled and sliced
- 3 cups vinegar
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon mustard seed
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 teaspoon salt ,may add more if desired
Directions :
In a large bowl, slice cu[censored]bers and onions.
In a medium sauce pan, combine vinegar, sugar, and spices; bring the mixture to a boil, and allow to boil for 2 minutes.
Remove from heat, allow to cool, and then pour over cu[censored]bers and onions.
Cover and refrigerate. The pickles are best if refrigerated for 1 to 2 days before eating.
