- 1 1/2 cups of heavy whipping cream
- 3 whole eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp real vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 C cake flour
- 1 1/2 C granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350degrees. Beat cream until stiff,( be careful not to "break" it.) Sift together all dry ingredients, set aside. Beat eggs and vanilla together until foamy, gently fold into whipped cream. Fold in dry ingredients a little at a time just until combined. Pour into parchment lined spring form pan. Bake 30-35 minutes for 10 inch pans. Allow to cool completely before removing ring. This one does have a tendancy to stick!! Decorate as desired.

My Comments:
This was my grandmothers recipe. ( I will no doubt be posting a lot of her's. :) ) I believe the original was from a very old Watkin's cookbook. I am not sure if she changed anything or not.
I prefer this one as "unadorned" as possible so that the light but rich flavor of the cake can shine on it's own.
