You know you love the cookies...
DATE: 11/27/2007 20:28:31 / MOOD: happy

I have taken the initiative and invited my co-workers to a cookie exchange!  I met with interesting mixed responses, from "awesome, I'm in!" to "oh, I'm trying to eat well blah, blah, blah".  I tackled those naysayers with "Are you expecting to eat no cookies at all over Christmas? What about your kids, they love cookies... Wouldn't you love to have a pretty plate of treats to take to your neighbor, pastor, organic egg producer or the wonderful hostess who invited you to dinner...hmmm?" Before I knew it we had 10 happy bakers!  Yahoo, cookies here I come!

I love (to make) cookies.
DATE: 11/27/2007 08:16:18 / MOOD: full of life

I am not one to write a blog on everything and anything but it seems right (and in season) to pay homage today to the cookie.  It's one of my favorite things to bake (and eat).  I think it is because you can't fool around too much with a cookie in the making.  You find a recipe that appeals, round up the ingredients required and follow the directions and voila! chocolate gingerbread!  I love to cook and meals are often a result of creative cupboard & fridge foraging but cookies have a process that makes it possible to eat cookies made to taste just like my mom & grandmas did.
